Welcome home to Louise's Kitchen, a unique ask-for-seconds restaurant in North Carolina. Located in picturesque Black Mountain, the scrumptious cuisine offered here leaves us wanting more. This creative culinary team makes breakfast, lunch, and Sunday brunch sourced from local farms. And the kid's menu is outstanding. Beginning at 7:30 a.m., breakfast is served all day every day except for Sunday when brunch begins at 10:00 a.m. Lunch is served from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. when this delightful eatery closes. Craft beer, Manmosas, and Megamoses are refreshing choices to complete any meal at any time.
Louise's sits inside a charming house that was built in 1904.
Almost everything has been carefully kept original to the house, making this a cool space with interesting corners to eat in.
Place the order at the counter, then find a seat.
Or sit outside on the cool, shady porch when the weather allows.
Begin the day with a Big Boy Burrito.
A roasted red pepper tortilla hugs two free-range local eggs, Chop Shop sausage, bacon, shredded cheese, potatoes, and pico de gallo.
We love the buttermilk pancakes served with love and house-made vanilla bean syrup, strawberries, and a choice of bacon or Chop Shop sausage.
And when this special is offered, grab it!
The Stuffed French Toast is made with eggy challah bread, stuffed with fresh blackberry cream cheese, and served with a choice of bacon, sausage, grits, potatoes, or eggs.
A Black and Bleu Salad for lunch comes with locally-grown greens, berries, bleu cheese crumbles, red onions, and toasted pecans served with blueberry vinaigrette.
Boar’s Head Turkey or a scoop of homemade Curry Chicken Salad are available additions.
When our stomach calls for something hearty, we choose the Philly classic with a Southern twist.
This baby calls for peppers, onions, and Louise’s famous pimento cheese on a fresh hoagie roll.
And house-made desserts top off the meal, which are often freshly-baked cookies and yummy cinnamon rolls.
Discover more about this ask-for-seconds restaurant in North Carolina on the Louise's Kitchen website. Since the house is small inside, it lacks a designated waiting area, so reservations are not available. This special place is first come, first served, and we plan to get there first.
Also, consider Black Mountain for a winter getaway destination as it's one of the snowiest towns in the state. Find a Vrbo with a fireplace in a magical setting.
