It seems that almost all of North Carolina is a photogenic place, and really, it is. But if you’re looking to learn photography, practice your skill, or hone your craft – there’s so many gorgeous places, and subjects, to photograph. My first list included 15, but why stop there? Here are 10 more places that are absolute photo taking paradises in North Carolina.

The Blue Ridge mountains get all the attention, but the Smokies offer some breathtaking views, especially at sunset!

Sure, the land gets flat and a little less green and abundant...but how can you not find a view like this truly breathtaking?

This crystal clear, natural lake is brimming with coastal charm.

Located in Raleigh, this historic mill is great for photo taking with an awesome subject.

Speaking of subjects, piers always make for some great dynamics in any sunset or sunrise beach pic.

Edenton is a gorgeous small town with plenty of scenery, history, and great things to take pictures of...like the historic Edenton Lighthouse pictured above.

Hanging Rock State Park is centrally located but has the gorgeous beauty of the mountains. With three waterfalls and multiple hiking trails, as well as lots of rock outcroppings with great views, you'll want to come back time and time again to KEEP capturing pictures.

Another centrally located place that is great for a day of hiking, and pictures, is Pilot Mountain. If you're pushed for time, you can drive to the summit and snap a couple pictures.

Cape Lookout and Cape Hatteras get all the attention, but Bodie Island is a beautifully photogenic place perfect for some sunset pictures.

Looking Glass Rock is over a million years old, and a true gem to witness right off the Blue Ridge Parkway.
