We’re currently in the perfect season for day trips and there’s no better time than now to start planning an adventure to Rochester’s Strong National Museum of Play. A great spot to take the entire family where you’ll find that time flies, this whimsical museum made a spectacular expansion just over ten years ago. Spreading its wings for all to see back in 2006, this butterfly house will take you to another world.
Designed to resemble a butterfly, the Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden in Rochester is simply stunning.
The only indoor butterfly garden that you'll find open all year long in Upstate New York, you'll find a pathway that takes you through a tropical environment inside of the building.
A gorgeous addition to the already phenomenal museum is one that's now become a local favorite, visitors of Dancing Wings will get to walk amongst nearly a thousand butterflies.
Creating a magnificent rain forest right here in our backyard, you'll get the chance to discover turtle and koi ponds, a variety of birds, Watson the chameleon and even Socrates the toucan!
With so much to see your eyes will be wandering all over the place while you visit here, but you'll want to make sure you stop by the fascinating chrysalis case to get a chance to see butterflies emerging into their final form.
And as if this place wasn't magical enough to see during the day, at night the wings of the building light up and glow for everyone in the city to see.
