9 Amazing Buffalo Area Hikes Under 3 Miles You’ll Absolutely Love
Winter is finally over and it’s time to take advantage of the great outdoors! From bike paths to pedal boats and everything in-between, there is no shortage of outside activities in Western New York, no matter what your skill level might be! If your hiking boots were made for walking (but not too far), check out these nine Buffalo-area hikes under three miles.

Hiking back to the Eternal Flame is roughly two miles round-trip. The hike is relatively easy and great for all skill levels, just beware of slippery surfaces if you plan your hike after a rain!

There are several trail options at Devil's Hole State Park, ranging from leisurely walks to more intense hikes. Depending on what you're looking for, you can select the trail once you get there. Whichever path you choose, you're sure to take in some beautiful views along the way!

If you're looking for an easy hike through the woods, the Erie County Forest and Old Scarbuck Trail a great option. The main loop is two miles long, with an option to also hike the extension loop for an extra mile.

Hikes at Hunter's Creek are moderately challenging but well worth the efforts! This two-mile trail loops through Hunter's Creek Park and even takes you up close and personal to a waterfall.

Letchworth State Park is a hiker's paradise in Western New York! While there are certainly more challenging trails, you can choose your level of intensity when you get to the park. Some of the trails are even paved to easily bring you to the park's most beautiful features!

Reinstein Woods has self-guided nature trails open from sunrise to sunset. While they vary in length and difficulty, the Lily Pond Loop, Footprint Trail, and Beech Tree Trail are all relatively easy hikes - perfect for a spring or summer stroll!

Stiglmeier Park is another one that offers multiple trails to choose from. The trail loops in their entirety total over five miles, but you can choose to hike the smaller loop. We have a feeling that once you get there to experience the park, you'll want to trek the whole thing!

Tifft Nature Preserve offers a two-mile loop that weaves along the lake and marshes, perfect for wildlife sighting and a more laid-back, relaxing hike.

Similar to Tifft, Times Beach is another beautiful nature preserve to explore on your next hike. Trek out to the break wall or take it slow and bring your camera for bird-watching.
