Buffalo is a city that's more than familiar with natural wonders, as we're situated right along Lake Erie and only a stone's throw from world-famous attractions like Niagara Falls and Watkins Glen State Parks. However, you may not realize that roughly 10 miles from downtown Buffalo, you can find a scenic park in Williamsville that's hiding away a beautiful waterfall. With the fall season on the horizon, now's the perfect time to take an adventure to this Erie County gem.
Glen Park is an unexpected pocket of nature nestled between buildings and the former Williamsville Water Mill, making for a lovely little place to escape to when you're in need of some serene scenery
Running right through the park, Ellicott Creek creates small waterfalls and a peaceful trickling soundtrack for those who are exploring this slice of Erie County.
Along the park's 1.4-mile trail, you'll find many folks out watching for wildlife or simply enjoying an easygoing stroll.
The shining star of this little park is Glen Falls, a lesser-known Western New York waterfall that's hiding just moments from home.
Glen Falls cascades nearly 30 feet down along the creek and there are plenty of viewing points throughout the park and along the trail where you soak in the views.
During the fall season, Glen Falls looks even more spectacular when surrounded by the gorgeous colors of Buffalo's autumn foliage.
Easily accessible and absolutely stunning, it's hard to beat such a winning combination that's so close to home!
Glen Park is open every day from sunrise until dusk, so Buffalonians will find endless opportunities to go and explore Glen Falls.
