Buffalo does a wondrous job of creating fantastic outdoor spaces within our city limits that almost make us forget the fact that we’re living in an urban space. That said, there are limits to how much wide open space you’ll manage to find within a city, so you won’t exactly find any farms hiding in the heart of town – but that doesn’t mean we’re stuck merely dreaming of escaping to the countryside. In fact, there’s a lovely little fruit farm that’s a surprisingly short drive from Buffalo, and they bake up some of the best homemade pies you’ll ever taste. Check it out:
Just 30 minutes north of Buffalo, you’ll find the village of Youngstown.
And right along Lockport Street, you’ll find the delightfully delicious Sanger Farms. This family-owned operation will make you mouth water from the moment you arrive.
It has become a well-known attraction thanks to homegrown fruits, like their juicy peaches - which some say are even tastier than the ones you’ll find down South!
While it’s hard to tear your eyes away from the seemingly endless rows of bountiful fruit trees, there’s another area of the farm that you definitely need to check out.
Sanger Farms creates all kinds of pies - including flavors like Chocolate Creme and Coconut Cream, which are two popular choices alongside the fruit pies.
