When traveling throughout the Land of Enchantment, or passing through on Route 66, you'll need a place to stop, rest, and preferably grab an amazing Southwest bite to eat. This old rest stop in New Mexico goes back to the 1930s, and has been a true oasis in the desert for decades. Not only is this a full fledged gas station and gift shop, there's also a quaint little sit-down restaurant right within the rest stop. After you gather your necessities and browse the gift shop, pull up a seat to their counter or hit a booth and fill up on some classic diner food. This travel center in the unincorporated town of Clines Corners is the ultimate stop before you continue your travels.
Welcome to Clines Corners Travel Center in the unincorporated town of Clines Corners, right off Route 66.
This long-standing rest stop has been a safe haven for travelers for decades.
Clines Corners was started by Roy E. Cline in 1932 when Route 66 wasn't rerouted to its current route yet. He wanted a place where weary travelers could stop, rest, shop, and eat.
Now, this travel center is so much more than your average rest stop.
While this is a 24/7 gas station, Clines is also home to a unique gift shop, Subway, and a full service restaurant.
Before you grab a bite to eat, you have to browse the store.
Besides much needed items for travel, Clines' gift shop is home to so many unique souvenirs. From homemade candy to Indian pottery, moccasins, and more, you can spend all day looking around in this cool gift shop.
After you're done shopping, head on over to Cafe on Route 66.
Inside this rest stop is a wonderful little diner restaurant. Pull up a seat to the counter or grab a booth and get ready to fill up.
This little restaurant is the perfect place to recover from your travels, and has all of your favorites.
Whether you're looking for breakfast food, a smothered burrito, or a pork chop dinner, this classic diner food will have you ready to hit the road.
It wouldn't be New Mexico without a green chile cheeseburger.
If you're from the Land of Enchantment, then you won't be surprised to hear that even this rest stop diner is home to a great GCCB. Be careful, as the chile is hot.
This rest stop might be a lot bigger than it was decades ago, but it will still have you feeling rested and full after a stop to their in-house restaurant.
