Some places in New Jersey are just plain creepy. You can just tell the energy is off in the area. Double Trouble State Park isn't exactly that — it's not an ominous place to hike and explore. However, there is one area of the park that's just plain spooky, and has a crazy UFO legend surrounding it.
Double Trouble State Park is one of the prettiest outdoor areas in the state.
Double Trouble State Park is located in Lacey and Berkeley Townships in Ocean County, and has plenty of hiking trails.
However, Double Trouble State Park is hiding a creepy history.
It's thought a UFO once landed here! A circle of fully grown pine trees is found in the park, and some speculate it's because a UFO landed at this site.
Strangely, technology is rumored to go haywire around the site, too.
Cameras and cell phones don't always work by it. Watches and compasses also go crazy by it. That sounds spooky to us!
If you're brave enough to enter the park, a lovely hike awaits you.
The Double Trouble Trouble State Park Trail is an easy and peaceful hike that's great for all ages.
The loop trail is about 2.5 miles long, and is only moderately trafficked.
You walk past a river, which is definitely the highlight of the whole hike.
There are also cranberry bogs and historic houses that add to the appeal of this trail.
If you can get past the UFO rumors, this is a great place to explore!
Dogs are able to use this trail, so make sure to bring them along! After all, they might detect extraterrestrial signs before you do.
