This Indoor Beach In New Jersey Is The Best Place To Go This Winter
I’m a Jersey girl, so it’s no surprise that I love the beach. If you feel the same way, you’re probably missing it right now…darn winter. It’s just all so wonderful – the boogie boarding, the boardwalk, the nice warm temperatures… You can find that all and more, all year long!
Sahara Sam's Oasis is an 80,000+ square foot indoor waterpark.
Open year-round, it's always 84 degrees inside. There's a retractable roof which opens up on warmer days.
There's a children's play area called Tim-Buk-Tu, pictured.
It offers a variety of water features and some smaller slides. There's also the Lizard Lagoon, perfect for toddlers, a pool for basketball, and a water obstacle course.
If you're looking for a thrill, they've also got larger slides.
Ride the snake eyes solo or with a friend, enjoy the epic Mount Kilimanjaro (pictured) with the whole family or slide down the thrilling Nile Mile - a 350' body slide.
Don't miss Flow Rider, an indoor boogie boarding simulator!
Pretend you're in Hawaii as you ride the wave. Note that stand up surfing is not allowed for safety reasons, but belly boarding is still a blast. Another fun adventure? Racing a friend on the brand new Tut's Twisters slides.
Opportunities for relaxation abound.
Enjoy the lazy river or indoor leisure pool. Best of all, there's a wonderful warming tub, tucked away from the crowds. It will keep you nice and cozy but it's not quite a hot tub - the temperatures are safe for longer term lounging.
It feels just like the beach!
You've got the warm temperatures, and palm trees (painted) in the background.
For a VIP experience, rent a cabana.
Store your stuff, enjoy the lounge chairs and sip on the included water. Seasonal outdoor cabanas are also available and include electric outlets for laptop and cellphone use.
Older guests can enjoy tropical drinks at Sam's Lounge.
The lounge is open to guests aged 21 and up on weekends. In warmer months, there is an outdoor tiki bar and adjacent sand volleyball court.
Other indoor attractions include an arcade and cafe.
Play games, win prizes and dine on fast food favorites like pizza and pretzels. There are also sandwiches, sweets and quite a bit more - you'll find something for even the pickiest eater.
In summer months, head out to the beach club.
An ideal spot to just enjoy the water, both a wave pool and a leisure pool are available.
Sahara Sam's is a birthday party paradise, offering a variety of packages.
The foam-tastic package includes a private foam pit. The cooking up fun package lets kids create their own personal pizzas. All packages include food, water park access and vouchers for the arcade.
Don’t wait for summer when you can enjoy waterpark fun right now. With fresh snow on the ground, we could all use a bit of the tropics. To visit, head to 535 North Route 73, West Berlin. This incredible park isn’t New Jersey’s only indoor waterpark – CoCo Key Water Resort is just under ten miles away at 915 Route 73 in Mount Laurel.
