The Granite State is a beautiful place. The fact we have 93 state parks despite being so small in land area is absolutely incredible. When it comes to state parks in New Hampshire, one of our very favorites is Pawtuckaway State Park. This 5,000-acre haven has so much to offer visitors. There’s a huge lake, trails, mountains, marshland, and more. It’s a gorgeous place to visit at any time of year and will remind you what a diverse, stunning state New Hampshire truly is.
Pawtuckaway is tucked away in southeastern New Hampshire. It's got a huge variety of landscapes within the park, and there's so much to see here that you could easily spend a day or even a whole weekend.
The lakefront beach is a great spot for relaxation or fun in the sand. Feel free to go swimming if the weather is cooperative, and you can even rent a kayak or canoe during the warmer months.
You never know what kind of critters you'll catch a glimpse of here. Blue herons are common in the area, and there's also plenty of deer and smaller birds.
There are even several marshland areas within the park. This place is a great opportunity to see many different types of terrain without leaving the state.
