New Hampshire has more than its fair share of apple orchards and pick your own farms, and most of them have tasty treats on offer (you’ll never see us turn down a cider donut). One Plainfield farm stands out, though, for the incredibly scrumptious and more unusual treat you can enjoy as a reward for all your hard work picking apples.
Riverview Farm is a family-run operation that runs down to the Connecticut River and is one of the loveliest spots you could imagine.
The Farm has a longstanding collaboration with Mac's Maple sugarhouse right down the road, and all through the fall you'll find the Mac's van on the farm selling all of the delicious maple treats you could ask for.
The real standout, though, is the maple creemee. More often found over the border in Vermont, this delectable treat is like the richest, smoothest soft serve you could imagine. Its high butterfat content gives it a thickness and creaminess you don't find in most soft serve, and it's full of flavor from the maple syrup used to make it. Get the maple sprinkles - chunks of maple sugar candy - for the most mapley experience.
If you want to get some fruits and vegetables in on this trip as well, head up to Riverview Farm's beautiful apple orchards and berry fields for picking.
