There are seemingly endless ways to appreciate the great outdoors of New Hampshire. Between our plentiful hiking trails and beautiful scenery, a simple walk outside is often enough to have us feeling grateful that we’re in the Granite State. Now that the summer camping season is here, we’ve got our sights set on appreciating the outdoors by sleeping under the stars. And there’s no better place to do it than at these lakeside campgrounds.
1. Lake Ivanhoe Lake Campground, East Wakefield
This place is great for families. Enjoy access to the lake and plenty of forested sites for both tents and RVs. And they are plenty of activities. From boating to racquet sports, we're pretty sure nobody has any chance of being bored here.
2. Swanzey Lake Camping Area, Swanzey

If you prefer camping that includes sleeping
inside this might be the best spot for you. Rent one of their well-equipped cabins or go the traditional route by setting up camp with your RV, tent, or their three sided shelter a quarter mile from the Cohos Trail. And the best news about this place? There are no additional fees for pets!
4. Long Island Bridge Campground, Moultonborough
For a truly New Hampshire experience you
must spend at least a bit of time on Lake Winnepeseaukee. These camping spots, right on the lake, are great for tents and RVs. They also have rental cabins available. Enjoy boating and lots of on-land activities during your stay here.
5. Loon Lake Campground, Croydon
This 102-site campground has its own 100-acre private lake for visitors to enjoy. Like many campgrounds, these sites are seasonal so be sure to visit between the spring and fall. This campground also features a function lodge for weddings and other special events. This would make a great place to celebrate!
6. Calef Lake Camping Area, Auburn
Depending on what you prefer you can stay along the lake or nestled in the woods. There are lots of activities here too, from boating to sports to simply relaxing on the beach.

Head to the mountains to find this wonderful camping experience. Some parts of this lakeside campground might look like other camping spots, but don't forget that they also have a pool with water slides to up the ante! Enjoy sites for tents and RVs or rent one of their cabins or the yurt.
