Nevada’s Valley of Fire State Park is the largest state park in the entire state! Established in 1935, it is filled with incredible sights and mesmerizing natural rock formations. Valley of Fire is a popular destination for tourists and locals eager to see the radiant red rocks for themselves. To reach the state park, head towards Clark County, Nevada. It’s best to start at the Visitor Center, where helpful staff can answer all of your questions and you can grab a map to decide where to go next.

Follow the Valley of Fire Highway until you reach Mouse’s Tank Road, where you will find parking and sights throughout. Many parking lots throughout the state park also have restrooms.
While staying in your car might seem appealing, the best way to see some of the most amazing Redstone standouts (including ancient petroglyphs) is on foot!

Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes! Hiking includes sand and rough terrain at times. Also, be prepared for hot temperatures during warmer months of the year and bring lots of water as well as protection from Nevada’s bright sun.
Trails like the Petroglyph Canyon Trail will lead you to wonderful places. Take it to see Mouse’s Tank, a picture-perfect formation that creates a water basin after heavy rains.

Travel farther down Mouse’s Tank Road to see The White Domes Trail. This is a popular spot for its mesmerizing tall and narrow sandstone walls. Hiking along this trail is moderately difficult and is about one mile long.

Your pets are welcome at Valley of Fire Sate Park! Just remember to keep them on a leash and bring lots of water to keep them comfortable in the harsh climate.
Keep an eye out for Bighorn Sheep! They are native to Nevada and enjoy this natural habitat with its rocky terrain.
