Back when Paul Schat's Bakery opened in the Carson Mall in 2009, the name was already pretty well known. Previously, Schat had created another successful bakery in Mammoth Lakes, California and he was even part of the creation of Schat's Bakery in Bishop, California.
It's safe to say that Schat had quite the reputation by the time the Carson City bakery opened less than a decade ago. They decided to open a Nevada location after they closed their Mammoth shop and moved to the little town of Minden.
From the moment you walk into the store, the intense scent of freshly baked goods will hit you in your senses. Pastries, breads, and cakes can be found on tables and shelves all around you. This is what visiting a bakery should be all about!
The quality of their baked goods is known to be outstanding. It is also known to get pretty busy around lunch since they boast an excellent selection of soups, salads, and sandwiches (on homemade bread, of course). You might have to wait in line during your visit but it will be so worth it!
