If you’re ever in Columbus, Nebraska, and in need of a great steak, your first stop should be Dusters and Gottberg Brew Pub. The restaurant and microbrewery has been a fixture in Columbus since 1995, earning the acclaim of locals and visitors alike. But the incredible food isn’t the only reason to visit.
The large building at 13th Street and 28th Avenue has stood there since 1920 when it was known as Gottberg Auto Company. The restaurant refers to the building as an architectural gem, and we think you'll agree.
The exterior still reflects the building's age and grand stature, but the interior has been updated and upgraded to make it one of Columbus's most loved restaurants.
The interior is decorated in classic midwestern steakhouse style. There's even an impressive mural on the wall depicting the history of transportation in Nebraska.
But you won't want to miss the prime rib. Whether you get a big slab of the extra-tender, overnight-roasted meat or opt for a slow-roasted prime rib sandwich with au jus on the side, you can't go wrong.
The interior of the brewpub is meant to call to mind the area's agricultural history. The ceiling and walls resemble a grain bin, and the tractor-style seats add a playful touch.

You can get the same meals in the brewpub as you can in the restaurant. Ask your server for a recommendation and they can point you toward the perfect beer to complement your meal. Or try a few on your own to see which you like the most!
Another fun piece of trivia: Dusters was named for the long coats people used to wear when riding around in the topless cars of the early 20th century – yet another callback to the building’s early history.
