The One Hikeable Lake In Wyoming That’s Simply Breathtaking In The Fall
Autumn is one of the best times for a hike in the Cowboy State. The air is crisp, and the wilderness is ablaze with fall colors.
There are loads of places around the state where any hike would provide the best Wyoming has to offer. If you're looking for a recommendation, however, we have just the place. The Jenny Lake Trail is absolutely spectacular in the fall, and it's a fairly easy hike. The bonus is the area around the lake itself. While Jenny Lake is a beautiful spot to visit year round, it's particularly breathtaking in the fall.
If you're looking for an awesome autumn hike, you can't go wrong with Jenny Lake.
Here you will find 7.5-mile hiking trail that is rated "moderate" and starts at the boat dock.
It loops around, so you end up where you started, and you'll have the opportunity to see two lakes on this gorgeous hike.
About half-way through the hike, around 3.4 miles, you'll reach the Jenny Lake Trail junction. Taking the trail to the right will take you around String Lake before continuing on your journey.
The magnificent fall foliage is what makes the trail at Jenny Lake a must-hike experience. You'll be treated to an array of colors from greens, oranges, and golds...
...to rich purples and reds.
The seasonal shades are a perfect complement to the other elements Nature has paired them with...
...even the wildlife you're bound to see along the way.
Of course, Jenny Lake is the centerpiece of the experience, one of the crown jewels of Grand Teton National Park.
Pictures can hardly do it justice. A glacial lake that is approximately 12,000 years old, Jenny Lake is one of those natural wonders that you have to see to fully appreciate.
Once you've experienced the hike near and around Jenny Lake during the fall, you'll want to make it an annual autumn tradition.
