Sometimes its just nice to escape the hustle and bustle of life in general. One of the best ways to do that is to spend some time totally immersed in nature. Nature has a very therapeutic effect on the mind, soul and body. Here are some secret and not-so-secret spots in Wyoming where nature will completely relax you. Even though there are some spots that don't necessarily fall into the secret category, these are spots that would be considered "the road less traveled."
1. Underneath the Big Horn sky on top of Granite Pass in the Big Horn Mountains.
Lying in a field looking up at the sky while watching the clouds float along is such a peaceful feeling.
2. Watching a meteor shower over the Snowy Range.
Wyoming is a great place to sit back and watch a meteor shower because everywhere you look there are unobstructed views of the sky. Sit back, relax and let nature put on a show for you. Enjoy the 'fireworks' without all the noise. This is Perseids Meteor Shower
3. In one of the lesser-known hot springs.
All of the hot springs are pretty sought after in Wyoming but Granite Hot Springs takes a little more effort to get to, so it's not as crowded as some of the others. Relax your body while soaking up all nature has to offer.
4. Soaking up the beauty of the Wind River Mountains.
The Wind River Mountains may not be the Grand Tetons but it is just as beautiful in its own right and is a much more private setting to relax in.
5. A drive along Beartooth Highway.
There's nothing more relaxing then just getting in the car and going for a drive with the fresh air blowing through the window and the music playing in the background, especially along one of the most scenic highways in Wyoming.
6. Sitting in the chapel and doing a little soul searching and quiet meditation while enjoying the solitude and majestic views of nature.
Nothing is more peaceful than sitting in the Chapel of the Transfiguration in Grand Teton National Park enjoying the awe-inspiring aspects of nature while in silent contemplation.
7. Quietly enjoying the sunset over Yellowstone Lake.
At the end of the day, it's time for the body and mind to slow down and enjoy the stillness of the night.
8. Shell Falls In The Bighorn National Forest
There's nothing more soothing than watching and listening to the mesmerizing flow of a stream of water.
9. A quiet snowfall anywhere in Wyoming.
Not only the quietness of the snow but just watching the delicate species of wildlife is relaxing. This is a male mountain Bluebird in the snow.
10. In a field of flowers in Lamar Valley.
Walking through a field of flowers under a bright blue sky is good for the soul.
11. Sunrise at Oxbow Bend gazing at Mount Moran.
Sunrise is such a peaceful time of day.
12. Trail riding south of Jackson along the ridgeline.
There's something so relaxing about horseback riding. It's such a carefree feeling.
