The Half-Mile Trail Tramper’s Delight Trail Might Just Be The Most Enchanting Hike In Wisconsin

One of the best hikes in Wisconsin is actually a shortcut. Trail Trampers Delight is a hiking path that connects a bit of magic - a gorgeous and iconic Door County Beach and a beautiful and historic lighthouse. The trail travels through a tranquil stretch of wild woodland, and it’s as beautiful as it was a century ago. Here’s why Trail Tramper’s Delight is an enchanting Wisconsin trail.

Peninsula State Park is located in Door County, between Fish Creek and Ephraim. It’s one of Door County’s most popular parks, but it’s easy to find peace and tranquility.

The park is laced with miles of trails that can be used for hiking, biking, and scenic strolls along the Lake Michigan shore.

But one of the best trails is short but very sweet. The Trail Tramper’s Delight was built in 1920 as a shortcut between two of the park’s landmarks.

One end of the trail connects to Nicolet Beach, one of the most iconic beaches in Wisconsin. It’s a great place for swimming, paddling, or just relaxing in the sun.

The other end of the trail connects to Eagle Bluff Lighthouse. This beautiful brick lighthouse was built way back in 1869.

The trail connects to the Sunset Bike Route, so if you want a longer hike, you can continue on to just about any corner of the park. But if you only have time for a quick hike, the Trail Tramper's Delight may be just what you need.

I’ve spent a lot of time running, biking, and hiking in this park - it’s one of the best places in the state to experience the outdoors.
