This Short And Sweet Trek Leads Straight To A Towering Waterfall In Wisconsin
Morgan Falls in Wisconsin is a stunning, easily accessible waterfall located within the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest.
There’s nothing quite like a cascading waterfall. Luckily, we’ve got several here in Wisconsin. Even luckier, some can be reached with minimal effort on our part. One such waterfall is Morgan Falls, a towering waterfall that's situated at the end of a 0.75-mile trail. Take a look:
Nestled within the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, you’ll find the St. Peter's Dome State Natural Area.
The recreation area boasts bountiful beauty and two popular trails – one of which leads straight to Morgan Falls.
Rated as easy, the trail is doable for hikers of all ages and skill levels.
There are even a bridge and a boardwalk, making the path even easier to traverse.
Short and sweet, the trek to Morgan Falls just under 0.75 miles.
Completely worth every step, the trail comes to an end at Morgan Falls, which drop 80 – 100 feet into an unnamed tributary of Morgan Creek.
Quite the sight, the waterfall flows over a 70-foot granite face.
There are plenty of options for clamoring on the rocks surrounding the falls, so close-up, incredible views are practically guaranteed.
Morgan Falls is stunning year-round; however, it’s important to remember that in winter, the fall’s flow slows to a trickle.
Once you're finished exploring Morgan Falls, consider checking out St. Peter’s Dome. A bit more strenuous but completely worth it, the trek to St. Peter’s Dome spans nearly two miles one-way and is quite rugged and steep.
However, as the highest point in Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest, St. Peter’s Dome offers views that are both unparalleled and expansive.
Though nothing compares to seeing the waterfall in person, the video below does a pretty good job of capturing the true beauty of Morgan Falls.
