If the latter is more your speed, you’ll definitely want to tackle Damnation at Mt. La Crosse Ski Area. A big slope with an even bigger reputation, Damnation boasts the second-longest vertical drop in Wisconsin and is among America’s steepest trails. Take a look:
Calling all adrenaline junkies! We found the perfect place for your next hair-raising adventure, and it’s Mt. La Crosse Ski Area.
Nestled in the bluffs of the Mississippi River, the views are incredible.
And the skiing is even better!
Boasting 18 slopes and trails with varying levels of difficulty, it’s easy to see why skiers of all ages and abilities have flocked to Mt. La Crosse Ski Area since it opened in 1959.
Each trail is awesome in its own right; however, there are a few standouts, such as Mileaway, Wisconsin’s longest run, and Damnation, the steepest trail in mid-America.
That’s not Damnation’s only claim to fame, though. With a 516-foot vertical drop, it’s the second-longest run in the Badger State.
Dubbed “a legendary Midwest slope,” skiers come from near and far to tackle the heart-pounding run.
However, as a double black diamond-ranked run, Damnation should only be attempted by expert skiers.
After hitting the slopes, continue your fun with a visit to the family-friendly chalet, which is known for its award-winning selection of beer.
