Backroads Safari offers a drive-thru wildlife park experience in Boyceville, allowing visitors to see exotic animals from their own vehicles.
Delving into a wild adventure couldn’t be easier – and it’s all thanks to Backroads Safari. A drive-thru wildlife park, it allows visitors to commandeer their own safaris from the comfort of their own vehicles.
Editor's Note: Backroads Safari is reopening under a new name and management in Summer 2023.
Aptly named, Backroads Safari is tucked away in the tiny village of Boyceville in Dunn County.
It’s a drive-thru safari park, so it offers all the fun of the zoo without any of the hassles.
Since you navigate the entire park from the comfort of your car, you won’t have to fight crowds, worry about the weather, or walk extremely long distances, making Backroads Safari a great choice for families with little ones.
The park boasts a wide variety of exotic animals...
...as well as a few familiar faces.
And as you navigate the designated “back roads” of the park, you’ll get to see those animals in a peaceful, natural habitat.
Along the way, you’ll encounter zebras, camels, kangaroos, ostriches, alpacas, and more.
Many of the animals will walk right up to the car – even poking their heads in the windows.
Of course, you can always purchase feed and increase the likelihood of up-close wildlife encounters.
With such an array of animals, there’s a lot to see. Luckily, you can drive through the park as many times as you’d like.
