View West Virginia’s Summersville Lake Like Never Before From The Cliffs On Long Point Trail

Long Point Trail offers an easy hike to stunning cliffs overlooking Summersville Lake in West Virginia.

We don't have ocean access in West Virginia, but we do still have some pretty amazing water views! One of the most gorgeous is Summersville Lake, as viewed from the end of the Long Point Trail.

The Long Point Trail is an easy out-and-back hike to some cliffs overlooking Summersville Lake.

The trailhead is located near Summersville Airport.

From U.S. 19, turn on Summersville Airport Rd and park at the red gated road right before the turn into the airport.

This is a 4-mile, out-and-back trail that meanders through beautiful forest before arriving at the cliffs on the lake's edge.

The trail is wide and easy to follow.

There's plenty of variety in this forest, and you'll be enjoying the sights well before you reach the lake.

But the real payoff is when you reach the Long Point Cliffs.

These cliffs provide amazing year-round views of the water.

Be careful on the cliffs - they are not fenced in any way.

And be sure to pack a picnic, as the overlook provides a perfect spot to sit and munch on a sandwich while enjoying the best view around!

You'll definitely want to take this hike more than once to see how the scenery changes from season to season.

It's beautiful no matter when you come!
