If you've ever visited Mount Rainier National Park, you probably know that it's full of stunning alpine meadows that are bursting with wildflowers, typically from March until August. The best way to see them is to enjoy them from a beautiful hiking trail, and luckily, there is no shortage of those either.
The seven mile (or more, depending on the route you take) Berkeley Park Trail is especially beautiful this time of year and, despite its long length, it's a pretty easy path to take.
The Berkeley Park Trail typically begins at the Sunrise Visitor Center and climbs through flower-filled meadows.
The entire trail is mostly downhill, although there are a few challenging parts.
It's not uncommon to see patches of snow up here, even in June.
It's a little surreal to see snow mixed with so many signs of spring.
The path continues toward the Sourdough Mountains, with plenty of beautiful wildflowers along the way.
For the majority of the hike, Mount Rainier peeks from the hilltop, directly in front of you.
The best time to hike this beautiful trail is in the summertime, especially July.
In mid-July, the trail is full of clumps of purple penstemon bursting from crevices between the rocks.
Every mile of Berkeley Park is amazing.

To reach this trail, head east on Highway 410 from Puyallup to Sunrise Road in Mount Rainier National Park. Turn right and drive 15 miles to the trailhead at Sunrise Visitor Center.
