Welcome to the amazing, iconic, and unforgettable North Cascades National Park. It's undeniably one of Washington's greatest treasures, and it deserves a spot on your bucket list.
One of the first things you should know about the park is that it's massive, measuring just over half a million acres in size.
Exploring the park, you won't help but notice the striking geological features, which are characterized by jagged mountain peaks, tumbling waterfalls, and nearly 300 glaciers.
In fact, North Cascades National Park has more glaciers than any national park outside of Alaska.
The national park was officially established in 1968 in an effort to preserve the rare snowfields, alpine meadows, and other gorgeous natural scenery common to the North Cascades Mountain Range.
In fact, the North Cascades are often referred to as the North American Alps, and it's no mystery why!
Wondering what some of the best things to see in North Cascades National Park are? Some of the park's most popular attractions include Lake Chelan, Mt. Baker, Diablo Lake, and Mount Shuksan.
The park is stunning year-round, but the best times to visit are between mid-June and late-September. Otherwise, there is likely to be a lot of snow on the hiking trails.
