One positive thing about this year is that we've all had plenty of time to plan our future Pacific Northwest adventures. And as our beautiful state begins to open back up, Washingtonians everywhere are ready to get back out and enjoy nature. If you have yet to experience the Hall of Mosses Trail in the Hoh Rainforest, don't let one more year go by before you do.
The Hoh Rainforest is located on the ruggedly beautiful Olympic Peninsula.
The best way to experience the Hoh for the first time — or the 10th time — is to hike the Hall of Mosses trail.
Start at the Hoh Rain Forest Visitor Center. From there, you'll find the Hall of Mosses trailhead.
This trail is only about a mile in length, but once you step foot on it, you'll feel like you've walked right into a Grimm's fairytale.
Tall, dense trees covered in moss surround you, and the air is thick with moisture and the smell of lush green plants.
The path is well-marked and easy to navigate, so all you have to do is enjoy the nature walk.
Between the century-old cedar trees and the sturdy fir trees, you'll be fully immersed in nature.
Be on the lookout for all forms of wildlife, ranging from small banana slugs to majestic Roosevelt elk.
While you'll have to leave your pets at home, this hike is very family-friendly, and kids tend to love it.
You'll almost always be surrounded by fog and mist on this hike, making the trail seem almost otherworldly.
It's a fantastic place to go when you just need to get away from it all.
The Hoh is a national treasure, and it's listed as one of the Seven Wonders of Washington.
And this enchanting place is something that every Washingtonian should see.
