The Patricia Ann Byrom Preserve Is A Hidden Forest In Virginia Worthy Of A Day Hike
One of my favorite parts about living in Virginia is the access to mountains. Whether you're looking for a camping adventure, a swimming hole, proximity to wildlife, or perhaps an unforgettable hike, the mountains certainly have what you're looking for. Today's feature destination is no exception, and it's catered to those looking for the experience of exploring a mountain range. Here's more on the unforgettable Patricia Ann Byrom Forest Preserve.
Tucked away west of Charlottesville, Virginia awaits a hidden gem of a forest preserve that belongs on your radar.
Patricia Ann Byrom Forest Preserve Park is a 600-acre natural space that offers opportunities for all kinds of outdoor adventures: mountain biking, horseback riding, and, of course, hiking.
Those who love mountain views will appreciate the network of trails here. The most popular is known as the Little Flat Mountain Loop, and it's about 4.6 miles in total.
As you can imagine given the mountainous terrain, the trails are steep and a bit strenuous. A sturdy pair of hiking shoes is recommended!
Of course, you don't need to hit the trails to enjoy all that this park offers. You can simply set up with a picnic and admire the breathtaking view.
Bring your binoculars, too, because you might spot some truly stunning wildlife!
So whether you decide to stay for an hour or an entire afternoon, you'll feel totally reconnected to nature after your time in this special place.
