Enjoy An Easy Walk At This Underrated Local Park In Virginia
No matter the time of year, there's something healing about taking a walk in nature. Virginia boasts plenty of excellent hiking trails, but if it's a more gentle terrain that you're looking for, Hopewell City Park offers just the thing. The Hopewell Riverwalk is a boardwalk trail that bugs the river, offering visitors a chance to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the fresh air and gorgeous views. Here's more on why a long walk at this underrated local park in Virginia belongs on your radar.
Tucked away along the river in the Hopewell/Prince George region of Virginia awaits the first installment of what will soon be a longer, meandering boardwalk trail.
The aptly named Hopewell Riverwalk is approximately three-quarters of a mile and showcases stunning views of the river.
When you arrive, be sure to take a little time to read about the trail and familiarize yourself with the surroundings.
While the stroll itself may be on the shorter side, you'll want to take your time enjoying the views.
After all, sometimes a long walk is measured in the quality of time spent outdoors rather than the miles you log!
Along the way, you may spot eagles soaring or ospreys fishing, depending on the time of year.
And when you need a quick break, you can find a nearby bench to sit and admire the scenery.
After you've finished walking the trail, you can explore more of the City Park amenities, including a nature-based playground, fishing pier, and sandy beach area. There really is something for everyone here!
