Are you looking for things to do in spring in Vermont that include a lot of exercise and breathtaking views? If so, head to Ludlow Mountain via Healdville Trail in Okemo State Forest for a memorable hike that includes interesting rock formations, a fire tower, picturesque scenery, and wildflowers along the trail. It's a wonderful way to spend spring in Vermont. The Ludlow Mountain via Healdville Trail in Vermont is just over seven miles and rated moderate. Since it's an in-and-out trail, you can walk a few miles or aim to reach the summit. And as long as your pup is on a leash, they can join you on your adventure too. To get started on your hike, drive either south or west on Vermont Road 103 and turn onto Station Road. Once you reach the train tracks, make another left until you reach the parking lot.
After you've geared up with water and comfortable shoes, follow the signs to the sights along the trail.
It'll feel like you're looking at a painting when you take in the panoramic views from the trail.
Take time to explore the fire tower as you head to the summit.
Due to weather conditions, the best times for checking out this trail are from May through September. However, if you hit the Healdville Trail at the right time of year, enjoy the wildflowers scattered throughout the forest.
Have fun taking photos of all the interesting rocks and trees you'll see as you hike.
Listen to the sounds of the leaves swish as you walk along the trail during the fall.
