Vermont is a pretty rural place so it's pretty easy to find a spot to soak in a little solitude. We have many favorite spots to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Green Mountain State, and here are 12 of our favorite hidden oases in VT.

1. Peavine Park, Bethel

Bethel, Vermont has a small park tucked away down by the White River called Peavine Park. It's quiet and lovely, and provides a peaceful place to walk or just sit.

2. Equinox Pond, Manchester

Equinox Pond in is just a short (but steep) hike off Equinox Pond Road. The water can be still as glass and crystal clear, making for a great spot to relax.

3. White River, Bethel

Another spot in Bethel is the White River, and it's easy to see where it got its name. You'll love the trees which are rippled and white.

4. Quiet bench in Woodstock

You may think of the bustling village when imagining Woodstock, but there are many spots around that provide solitude.

5. Salmond Covered Bridge, Weatherford

Because they are often bypassed and on seldom used roads, many covered bridges can be a bit tricky to find, so the Salmond Covered Bridge has this handy sign.

6. Basin Harbor Club, Ferrisburgh

The Basin Harbor Club has both fun activities and quiet spots for reflection. Whichever you choose, this is one place that is an all around Oasis.

7. The Quiet Path, Stowe

The Stowe bike path is an active spot, but there is a Quiet Path that forks off that shouldn't be missed. It's scenic, peaceful and all around lovely.

8. Guildhall Town Green

It might be in the center of town, but you'll certainly have your privacy.

9. Lake Willoughby, Westmore

One of the most photographed spots is also one of the most serene.

10. Kettle Pond in Groton State Forest

A short hike to Owl's Head Lookout will bring you to this spot, which feels like you're on top of the world.

11. Robert Frost Trail, Ripton

This year round trail is only one mile long, but you can get lost in the beautiful words of Robert Frost as his poems are mounted along the way.
