You May Not Like These Predictions About Utah’s Brutally Snowy Upcoming Winter

Every year, the Farmer's Almanac makes its weather predictions for the upcoming winter. The site claims 80 percent accuracy, and you might not like what it has to say about Utah's 2017-2018 winter.

If you're tired of this year's blistering, hot summer you might actually welcome the winter forecast. According to the Farmer's Almanac, Utah's in for a wetter, colder winter than normal.

Across the state, expect to see colder than normal temperatures, especially in December. The months of January, March and April are also expected to be colder than normal.

Heavier than normal snowfall is also expected around the state. Dust off your snow shovels and be prepared for especially heavy snows starting in mid-December, then peaking again in March.

Utah's skiers might be happy to hear about the heavy snow forecasted for this winter, as long as they've got adequate clothing to handle the biting cold temperatures.

While Southern Utah is usually much milder than the northern portion of the state, it's also slated for more snow and colder temperatures.

May, 2018 is predicted to be much hotter than normal, and the Farmer's Almanac is predicting a hotter summer overall, with below-average precipitation throughout the Beehive State's hottest months.
