St. George is a beautiful city with plenty of outdoor recreation, and one of its little gems is the Tonaquint Nature Center. This pretty little park is a wonderful place to take a stroll along the Santa Clara River. Check it out!
The Tonaquint Nature Center is a pretty respite right in the middle of St. George, and it's the perfect place for an afternoon stroll.
You'll find this little spot at 1851 S. Dixie Drive in St. George.
There's a half-mile path that takes you under shady arbors...
...past pretty plants...
...to a little pond. The path is a combination of pavement and crushed gravel, and it's nice and flat, so it's easy to navigate. Everyone from toddlers to grandparents will love a walk in the fresh air here.
During your excursion, you're bound to see all kinds of wildlife. Watch for frogs soaking next to the pond's shoreline...
...and keep an eye out for turtles basking in the sun.
The pond is home to many ducks, geese, and swans, and if you enjoy birdwatching, you'll want to bring along a pair of binoculars to spot all kinds of migratory birds. There's even a bird-watching blind here so you can hang out and watch birds for as long as you like.
In addition to wildlife spotting, you'll have an opportunity to learn about the plants and animals that live here. Watch for interpretive signs all along the path.
