The Subway at Zion National Park is a hidden gem that most Utahns don't experience. Traversing this place requires some skills, and you need a permit to even try it. The Subway is a strenuous 9.5 mile hike.
The trailhead starts at Kolob Terrace Road. As you start out, it seems like a pretty relaxing hike...
...but it requires 60 feet of rope, and rappelling skills.
You'll hike through water of varying depths - in some places you'll have to swim.
In other spots, you'll have to navigate boulders, and climb down through some narrow spots.
By the time you reach the entrance of The Subway, you'll likely be bruised, battered and exhausted.
But once you're here, you won't believe this place!
