Skip the Crowds: Explore Utah’s 5 Quietest Trails and Parks This Month

Escape the crowds to find quiet and solitude at these parks and along these trails in Utah.

Life can be quite busy, and also quite noisy. With phone calls, text messages, and email notifications, people constantly talking, etc., sometimes getting away to a quiet place is necessary. And the best place to find that quiet is out in nature. So, what are some of the quietest parks and trails in Utah? Well, that's what I am going to share with you right now.

1. Monarch Cave via Comb Ridge Trail

Located in the remote Bears Ears National Monument in Bluff, Utah, the Monarch Cave via Comb Ridge Trail is quite an escape into the wilderness. The 1.5-mile moderate out-and-back trail is well-marked and will lead you past incredible ancient petroglyphs, ruins, and even a campground. Take a look at the map on AllTrails and plan your next Utah hiking adventure!

2. Peekaboo Camp via Lost Canyons Trail

If you've never been to Canyonlands National Park, you should plan a trip immediately. With unusual rock formations towering above the landscape along with deep canyons, there's something so special, so striking about this national park. If you want some solitude during your visit, I suggest you trek the Peekaboo Camp via Lost Canyons Trail, a moderate 9.6-mile out-and-back trail that will take you down into Lost Canyon. Of course, a hike this long will require some preparation, so load up on water and sun protection, and make sure you have a backpack full of all the hiking gear you'll need.

3. Piute State Park

Perhaps the least-visited Utah State Park, Piute State Park is as quiet as can be. Whether you're up for a hike through the park or would prefer to cast a line to catch fish in Piute Reservoir, you'll barely encounter another soul. This small park is like a hidden slice of heaven here in Utah.

4. Moonshine Wash Trail

The Moonshine Wash Loop Trail near Green River, Utah, is a unique 6.4-mile hike through small slot canyons and desert landscape that will bring out your inner adventurer! You'll get to scramble and climb your way through this trail so make sure your hiking boots can take it. Best of all, this trail is quiet as can be!

5. Rendezvous Park

At 2.1 easy miles of paved trail, those with strollers and wheelchairs can enjoy time out in nature. This park is a hidden gem and, while it can be busy, there are certain times of the day when you can find some peace and solitude. Visit AllTrails to view a map of the Logan River Trail at Rendezvous Park.

Are you ready to navigate these quiet parks and trails in Utah? It's such a great way to destress.
