Bryce Canyon National Park is beautiful during the day, but at night it's absolutely stunning.
The skies are so dark here that you can see as many as 7,500 stars on a moonless night.
It's not uncommon to see the Milky Way, Venus, and even Jupiter.
During the Astronomy Festival, volunteers from the Salt Lake Astronomical Society make their telescopes available for the public to see the stars even closer up.
Rangers will also conduct green laser constellation tours.
The Astronomy Festival doesn't just focus on nighttime viewing - you can use these solar telescopes to safely view the sun, too.
The whole family will enjoy making craft projects, like these mini rockets.
A host of other events at this Utah astronomy festival include a star lab, planisphere workshops, and night sky guest speakers.
The keynote speaker for 2024 was Dr. Julie McEnery, a NASA scientist. She spoke about the next NASA flagship telescope, the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, which is set to launch sometime before May 2027.
Without a doubt, the Bryce Canyon Astronomy Festival in Utah is a truly unforgettable event. For more information, visit the Bryce Canyon National Park website, and keep tabs on current events by following the Bryce Canyon National Park Facebook page.
