Zion National Park is Utah's most visited park, and it's undeniably beautiful. You'll find tons of hiking opportunities here, including the super accessible Zion Riverside Walk, and the not-so accessible Subway hike. Here's a trail that's often overlooked, but it provides some of the most jaw-dropping views in the Beehive State.
The East Rim Trail to Observation Point is one of the most beautiful trails in the park.
The Zion shuttle will take you right to the trailhead. This trail is best during spring and fall months, so now is the perfect time to plan your trip.
This 8.6-mile long trail is quintessential Zion, with its colorful, towering cliffs...
...narrow slot canyon...
...desert vegetation...
...and tons of photo-worthy views.
This time of year, you'll find some fall foliage along the trail.
You'll pass through Echo Canyon - a narrow little slot canyon surrounded by dazzling cliffs.
A series of switchbacks takes you up the mountain. You'll gain a total of 3,480 feet in elevation during the hike.
Did we mention that this is Zion Park's highest elevation trail? Don't look down - this trail takes you to dizzying heights.
From this vantage point, you'll have sweeping views of the entire canyon. You can see Angel's Landing 800 feet below.
As with any hike in Utah, make sure that you're adequately prepared before you go. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen and a hat. This hike can be fairly strenuous, so if your fitness level isn't quite up to the task, try an easier hike in the park - many of the deaths at Zion are due to heart attack.
