Domino Park, a new waterfront park in Brooklyn, New York City, offers attractions for both tourists and residents.

In the city that never sleeps, it feels like there's always something new and exciting happening in New York. Opening up this month right in Brooklyn, New York City's latest waterfront park is something that's been in the works for quite some time. This park includes features that will be not only attractive to tourists but useful to the residents who live in the area as well. Find out why we're swooning over the newly-opened Domino Park.

Officially opening up to the public on June 8th, Domino Park in Williamsburg is New York City’s newest waterfront park. Covering over five acres along the water, the park will be open every day from 6 a.m. until 1 a.m.. The park has earned its named by paying homage to the former Domino Sugar Factory that’s right behind the park and was once one of the world’s largest sugar manufacturing facilities.

Created by the same people who brought the famous High Line to New York, James Corner Field Operations made sure that the park would include things that the residents of the neighborhood would appreciate. Throughout the park, you’ll find a beach volleyball court, a playground, a flexible playing field, bocce ball courts, a dog run, and plenty of picnic areas.

But one of the things that’s most exciting about the park is its Artifact Walk - an area of the park that features salvaged pieces of the old Domino factory. When you’re done exploring the Artifact Walk, nearby you’ll also find a breathtaking Japanese Pine Garden.

Just north of the Williamsburg Bridge, the half-mile-long park has panoramic views of Manhattan’s skyline that are beautiful to view all throughout the day. Another exciting feature of the park? The pedestrian bridge. Running right through the park, the elevated bridge gives you a better look at the river and the city - a view you can’t get just anywhere!
