Lake Isabelle in Colorado, located in Brainard Lake Recreation Area, is a stunning alpine lake surrounded by mountains and evergreens.

Tucked away in Brainard Lake Recreation Area, this gorgeous body of water is framed by evergreens and mountains. You'll feel utterly enchanted by this breathtaking attraction:
Lake Isabelle is perhaps one of the best kept secrets of Colorado’s alpine lakes. This stunning attraction can be found along the Long Lake Trailhead in Brainard Lake Recreation Area.
The lake can be accessed via a 4.5-mile loop, although keep in mind that sometimes the access road is closed, adding an extra 4 miles roundtrip.
Due to heavy snowfall, the Lake is best accessed from June until October. But don’t be surprised if you find some snowfall even during the summer!
What makes the lake so striking is the surrounding mountains. The peaks you’ll notice here are Apache, Shoshoni, and Navajo.
The lake is situated right at tree-line and offers exquisite views of the Indian Peaks Wilderness.
