Discover One Of Texas’ Most Majestic Waterfalls – No Hiking Necessary

The Japanese Tea Garden in San Antonio features a 60-foot man-made waterfall and rich historical background.

Waterfalls don't have to be the product of Mother Nature to be amazing - in fact, one of the tallest in Texas is man-made. The Japanese Tea Garden in San Antonio Brackenridge Park boasts a 60-foot waterfall that rivals others all across the Lone Star State. If you are in Texas and have ever wondered, "Where are some waterfalls near me?" Check this one out and see for yourself:

More than just a tourist attraction, the garden has quite a rich history. A Japanese Family, the Jingus, actually lived there before WWII and sold tea + light lunches out of their house before being evicted due to rampant xenophobia during the time period.

Originally known as the Chinese Sunken Garden, it was given its current name in 1984 to honor the Jingus. After undergoing an extensive renovation in 2007, it now features vibrant floral displays with shaded walkways, stone bridges, and this majestic 60-foot waterfall spilling into a Koi-filled pond.

Reminiscent of Japan itself, the garden instantly transports you overseas. With so many fun areas and exhibits, you'll easily spend hours exploring.

There's even a cafe with sandwiches, salads, Asian dishes, and a variety of hot + cold teas. Experience one of the garden's most integral pieces of history while simultaneously giving your taste buds a treat. Click here for a full menu.

You'll find the gardens at 200-414 Alpine, San Antonio, TX 78212. There are very few waterfalls in Texas that don't require any hiking to see, so you definitely won't want to miss this!

If you live in Texas, you'll know there is no shortage to the question: "Which of the waterfalls near me should I check out next?" Have you ever seen the waterfall in the Japanese Tea Garden? What about any of these waterfalls in Texas? Which one is your favorite?
