This incredible experience is fun not only for the littles but for the parents that are looking for a breather, too. If you haven't been, make sure to check out this neat natural experience in the heart of the Volunteer State!
If you're looking for a short, beautiful hike in Tennessee that's rife with adventure, then you'll want to make your way out to Foster Falls.
A view of the falls is a mere 0.3 miles from the parking lot, which means it's easy to bring the kiddos and keep them interested before the heat of the day sets in. The area is also very popular for climbers, so you may even catch sight of a few enthusiasts on the hike!
The natural beauty of the park is incredible, and the trail is well-trafficked. You won't be alone as you wander the rocky pathways of backwoods Tennessee! South Cumberland State Park remains one of the most popular natural spaces in the state, both for its ease of access and natural grandeur.
There's a swinging bridge at the base of the falls that's also popular amongst the youngest of hikers. Make sure you watch your step, though! The area is pretty rocky.
The sixty-foot drop is truly spectacular, dropping into a gorgeous plunge pool at its base. Ogle the mountain laurel and azaleas that grow along the edge of the falls, or perhaps make it an entire weekend experience by reserving a campsite at one of the nearby campgrounds.
South Cumberland State Park offers a myriad of fun activities and hiking opportunities, so make sure you capitalize on its fantastic location and year 'round hours.
Your little ones will be in awe of their state after a visit to Foster Falls, and most likely? Will sleep the whole way home. Nice work, parents!
