The towering quartzite cliffs at Palisades State Park in Garretson are a sight to behold. This might be South Dakota's second-smallest park, but it's definitely one of its most awe-inspiring!

This recreation area boasts South Dakota's largest marina, and whether you're sailing, fishing or waterskiing, the pretty lake is perfect. Oh, and did we mention the beach? You'll love splashing around at Lewis & Clark Recreation Area.

Roughlock Falls — one of South Dakota's most photographed natural spots — and you'll definitely fall in love. The hike is just two miles round trip, and offers some scenic beauty even before you reach the falls.
