During these muggy summer months, there is no better feeling than cooling off at a local water park. While most water parks can be quite thrilling, you may be looking for something a bit more relaxing and low-key, which is where the slow-moving waters of a lazy river come in. Are you ready to grab a tube and hit the water? Then you are going to love this gigantic South Dakota lazy river that has summer written all over it:
Welcome to the Wild Water West Waterpark: South Dakota's choice for all things water fun!
Located in Sioux Falls, Wild Water West has been an area go-to for 25 years and features more than one dozen activities ranging from go-karts to water slides and thrill rides.
While you cannot go wrong with anything at Wild Water West, our favorite part of all may just be the peaceful lazy river, which slowly winds around most of the park.
Passing palm trees and waterfalls, the lazy river at Wild Water West is one of the most unique rides in South Dakota and will make you think you left the state for a tropical paradise.
As if you needed another reason to love the lazy river, it is also the entrance to a 21+ swim bar, which makes for an even more relaxing experience!
Admission to the lazy river is included with your park ticket, which starts at $24.95 for guests 48" and up, and $14.95 for seniors and guests under 48". Guests 2 and under are free.
For more information on tickets - or to order yours online - please visit Wild Water West's website.
Wild Water West is open every day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. (weather pending) from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Address: 26767 466th Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57106
