South Dakota’s Living Christmas Tree Will Make Your Holidays Bright
There are some South Dakota holiday traditions you just don't want to miss, and here's one that we want to remind you about because it's happening this weekend!
It's happening tonight! Musicians have been practicing...
...the choir has rehearsed its music, and many volunteers have built the tree, wired it for sound and set the lighting. One of South Dakota's most incredible Christmas events happens this weekend.
The Aberdeen Living Christmas Tree has been a community tradition since 1988. People come from all over South Dakota for this celebration, and many who attended when they were little now bring their own children every year.
This beautiful celebration of the season comes together with the work of people from different churches and youth groups, and it's an event that you have to experience to fully appreciate its glory.
As always, the Living Christmas Tree performances are held on the first Saturday and Sunday of December. The performance on Saturday, December 2nd starts at 7 PM; the Sunday, December 3rd performances are held at 3 PM and 7 PM.
The Living Christmas Tree celebration is at the Aberdeen Civic Arena, 203 S Washington Street, Aberdeen.
This event is free to the public! There will be a free-will donation available for those who want to help with the costs of this event.
