15 Thoughts Everyone In South Carolina Has When Winter Is Coming
Cooler weather always brings a sigh of relief from the sweltering temps and humidity that come with summer in the Palmetto State. Cooler temperatures come a little earlier in the Upstate and Piedmont than they do in the Midlands and Lowcounty of South Carolina. Regardless of which month it arrives, colder weather elicits some common thoughts among us. Do any of these sound familiar?
1. I can't believe it's getting dark so early.
2. Wow, this year went by fast.
3. Seriously? It's not even Halloween and this store is filled with Christmas stuff. .... oh wait, this is a Christmas store. Whew!
4. Christmas is just around the corner.
5. I really should start my holiday shopping earlier this year.
6. I'm serious. I'm not letting it sneak up on me this year. I'm going to have everything ready early - very early.
7. (Thanksgiving Dinner) How long am I supposed to cook this thing? I better look it up.
8. It's about time to pull out the lights and see what kind of challenge lays ahead.
9. I wonder what new yard decoration the (insert your neighbor's last name) family is adding this year?
10. Time to stock up on some firewood.
11. I better start planning dinner for everyone.
12. (Christmas Dinner) Wait...HOW long do I cook this for? I better look it up.
13. Christmas is over. Now what?
14. I hope it snows this year.
15. I'm building a snowman - even if I have to improvise.
