There’s a lovely trail hidden away in Jones Gap State Park that leads you straight to a stunning waterfall. The Rainbow Falls Trail is a hike that everyone should do at least once in their life. Located in Jones Gap State Park is a hike that needs to go on your bucket list.
Rainbow Falls Trail will take you through gorgeous mountain scenery until you arrive at a stunning waterfall. The falls drop 100 feet off of granite cliffs and cascade to the rocks below.
The trail itself is well maintained, with gorgeous bridges and packed down earth.
You will easily be able to find the route as you ascend. The trail is blazed in easy to see red trail markers.
Every turn of this trail has a view worth enjoying.
You will hike 1,2007 feet high to get to the end of the trail and the falls. Even though the climb can feel strenuous at times, you will be so awed by the beauty that surrounds you that you won’t mind.
The entire hike is 4.3 miles long.
It’s an out and back trail that follows the water to the falls. You’ll have the pleasure of the soothing sound of rushing water while you hike.
Every person who’s completed this hike has raved about the sights you’ll see and how much they love it.
Head out early in the morning to beat the crowds, as this hike is a popular one. It’s a wonderful trail to take on a hot day as you'll have plenty of shade to hide the sun.
There’s a $6.00 per person fee to you enter through Jones Gap State Park.
On Friday through Sundays you must reserve your parking spot online. Make sure to plan ahead for this beautiful day outdoors!
