Brookgreen Gardens’ Beloved Nights Of A Thousand Candles Will Be Returning To South Carolina
Nights of a Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens in South Carolina offers a unique holiday experience with art, food, and millions of lights.
The annual Nights of a Thousand Candles event at Brookgreen Gardens is a much-anticipated event each year in South Carolina. Now in its 21st year, the lights celebration at Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet pairs one of the state's most beautiful historic gardens with art, food, and illumination.
Brookgreen Gardens is South Carolina's most visited outdoor attraction.
It's easy to see why. The gently rolling landscape and perfectly manicured gardens of this sculpture garden and wildlife preserve make it a delight to visit in any season.
Especially during the holidays, when Brookgreen's signature live oak trees are saturated with just the right amount of bulbs...
to feel like you're walking through a story book.
If you've never attended the Nights of a Thousand Candles, then this is the year to go. Here's why:
Due to COVID, this year the venue will sell only half as many tickets as in previous years.
Don't misinterpret: in previous years, nightly attendance was capped so the property was never bulging with people.
But this year... you'll have twice as much breathing room (literally), since only half as many tickets are available.
Nights of a Thousand Candles takes place every Wednesday through Sunday from November 27 through December 31, 2020, with the exception of December 23-25 when it will be closed.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children. Admission is good from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. just for this special event. Arrive early enough to enjoy a pass through the venue before the sun sets and then get ready to watch the transformation as the lights come on.
In past years, each evening a tree lighting ceremony took place around 5 p.m. However the year, due to COVID, the tree lighting ceremony will not take place.
But you can still admire the lighted tree!
Listen to the sounds of holiday music, sip on cocoa, hot cider, or wine as you stroll through the gardens in awe of the millions of lights.
In lieu of selling half as many tickets as previous years, Brookgreen has added an additional 12 nights to the event this year to assure there are enough tickets to accommodate the masses.
