This Magical Summer Lights Festival In South Carolina Will Enchant You In The Best Way Possible

Your summer is about to get brighter than you ever thought possible. Brookgreen Gardens is hosting a summer lights festival and you will want to see it in person to experience the magic.

Their Summer Lights festival runs on certain evenings through August and features a variety of chinese lanterns, expertly crafted (from silk) to fit the occasion.

If you've ever experienced the holiday lights festival at Brookgreen that features thousands of hand lit candles, then you already know the thrill of seeing South Carolina's top outdoor attraction at night.

And you'll love seeing the animal, insect and plant-themed displays illuminating the grounds of this historic plantation. There will also be special events during Summer Lights, including music, chinese paper cutting, and food trucks.

Summer Lights takes place from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday from May 24, 2018 to August 19, 2018.

The event will be staged in Brookgreen's Lowcountry Zoo. You'll enter through the main gate anytime after 6:30 p.m. and then, if you get there before dark, you'll see them in the daylight — and watch the transformation as the evening darkens. Tickets are $20 for adults; $15 for children 12 and under; ages 3 and under are admitted free. Members receive a $5 discount. All tickets must be purchased in advance. Purchase tickets at this link.
