There’s A Waterfall Hidden In Plain Sight In Rhode Island Where Two States Meet

Nicholas Farm Management Area in Rhode Island is a stunning nature preserve featuring lush forests, peaceful wetlands, and a hidden waterfall.

Rhode Island's Nicholas Farm Management Area borders Connecticut, but the property belongs entirely to the Ocean State. If you've never explored this stunning nature preserve, you really should, especially if you love being surrounded by lush forests and peaceful wetlands. There's even a hidden waterfall here, which is pretty special for our state.

Located in Kent County in the town of Coventry, Nicholas Farm Management Area is a 1,429 acre nature preserve.

The area, which borders Connecticut, is owned by the state and open to the public.

This peaceful preserve is beautiful in any season, but it's especially popular in the autumn.

The fall foliage around Carbuncle Pond is remarkable.

That being said, you don't have to visit in the fall to enjoy the lush, green forest land.

The area is dominated by forest, mostly evergreen and deciduous. The Moosup River also flows through the northern part.

While some people think Carbuncle Pond is the best part of Nicholas Farm Management Area, we happen to think the slide waterfall is worthy of that title.

Waterfalls are fairly scarce in Rhode Island, so it's exciting to see one.

The water cascades down a slanted rock, creating a low but stunning waterfall.

As it crosses the rocks, the water looks almost emerald in color. Then it falls into the shallows below.

The Nicholas Farm Management Area is a wonderful part of the Ocean State.

Check it out the next time you're in the area.

Have you ever heard of this stunning place or this wonderful waterfall? Spring is on the way (we promise), and there's no better way to reconnect with nature than by exploring a naturally beautiful place like this.
