Tallying just four acres, Sabin Point Waterfront Park in Riverside is admittedly tiny, but it packs a whole lot of fun into a small space, making it an idyllic destination to spend a few hours or an entire day.

If it's your first visit, start with a stroll on the paved path that winds through the park and past...

Beautiful scenery. The park is dog-friendly, although you must keep your pooch on a leash.

The path meanders by the sandy shore. Dip your feet in the cool water of Narragansett Bay on a hot day.

The park is also a popular launching point for small boats.

Enjoy a bit of quiet as the kiddos reach for the sky on the swings and zip down the slides at the playground.

You might even want to bring a basketball, so you can shoot hoops. Picnic tables are placed throughout the park, so you can relax and enjoy a meal.

Unfortunately, the park does not have bathrooms.

Don't forget to pack your fishing gear. Even if you're not fishing, sit at the end of the pier, and drink in the views.

If you're not in a hurry, stick around to catch one of the breathtaking sunsets behind Narragansett Bay. Sit on a bench by the water or, if you don't feel like getting out of your car, you'll find the parking lot offers sensational views of the bay, too.
