Lincoln Woods State Park Is The Most Peaceful Place To Experience Fall Foliage In Rhode Island

Lincoln Woods State Park in Rhode Island offers stunning fall foliage and a variety of outdoor activities.

Rhode Island's fall foliage season is tragically short, with the colors peaking around mid-October. That being said, it's definitely not too late to enjoy a stroll through some of our top viewing areas. For and quiet and relaxing afternoon, we highly recommend heading to Lincoln Woods State Park. While you won't be able to enjoy the beach as much this time of year, the rich autumn hues will more than make up for it.

Lincoln Woods State Park is located in the small, picturesque community of Lincoln.

Nestled between routes 146 and routes 123, this park is one of Blackstone Valley's finest gems.

Due to the swimming at the freshwater beach, this area stays crowded all summer.

Other common activities include hiking, jogging, trout fishing, and enjoying picnics.

But come fall, you'll be able to enjoy a lot more peace and quiet here.

And from September to November, the park erupts in beautiful autumn hues.

The dense forests turn yellow and orange in October, making for a pleasant walking experience.

You'll have an amazing time walking around taking it all in.

There are several official hiking trails in the park, if you're feeling adventurous.

The Les Pawson Loop and Lincoln Woods Trail are both short, easy hikes. The Upper Pond MTB Loop is a 6.9-mile trek through some rocky terrain if you're up for a challenge.

The park is 627 acres in its entirety, so you'll have plenty of space to explore.

It includes all of Olney Pond, which is surrounded by colorful trees.

Lincoln Woods State Park will see an influx of new guests when winter arrives, as it's a popular place for snowmobiling and ice fishing.

In the meantime, the final weeks of all are always quiet and peaceful -- so go soon.

Check out Lincoln Woods State Park's stunning fall foliage soon. And if you can't make it to Lincoln, we've got lots of other Rhode Island day trip suggestions.
