Pulaski State Park Is an Underrated Rhode Island Park That Will Surprise You This Fall

If you're up for an adventure in Rhode Island this fall, Pulaski State Park may surprise you in the best ways possible.

Located within the 4,000-acre George Washington Memorial Park, Pulaski State Park is a tiny 100-acre parcel that puts on a big show during the fall. However, it's a lesser-known Rhode Island park that only locals in the northern part of the state seem to know about, making it a serene nature escape. If you're up for an adventure in Rhode Island this fall, Pulaski State Park may surprise you in the best ways possible!

Pulaski State Park and Recreational Area is in Chepachet, a small, rural village in the northern Rhode Island town of Glocester. I grew up in this part of the state and have fond memories of its brilliant fall foliage, and I have always loved visiting Chepachet this time of year.

Pulaski State Park is a day-use area best known for trout fishing in its 13-acre Peck Pond during the spring. However, many other ways to enjoy the park include picnicking, game fields, swimming, and hiking through the forest. During the winter, the trails are used for cross-country skiing. One amenity at this park that EV drivers may like is the EV charging station in the parking lot, available for a maximum of four hours per vehicle.

This is a hidden gem park that locals are most familiar with, but the rest of the state seems unaware of its existence. If you're up for an adventure to a quiet state park where you can find some peace, quiet, and solitude, Pulaski State Park is the perfect spot. Due to its forested landscape that includes a variety of species like maples, oaks, beech, and birches, you may see a kaleidoscope of autumnal hues as you spend time at the pond or go for a long hike on one of the trails. With fiery reds, vibrant oranges, and bright yellows, this may become your new favorite place to spend a few hours on a fall afternoon.

If you haven't visited this underrated state park during the fall yet, do yourself a favor and plan a day to go. You won't regret it! So pack your hiking gear and a picnic and plan a serene fall adventure filled with scenery, hiking, and serenity at Pulaski State Park. You won't regret it!
